KINGSBURGY, Ind. - Indiana Flex Fuels LLC, a fledgling La Porte County biodiesel company, was energized with a $500,000 renewable energy grant presented at a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new plant in Kingsbury Industrial Park Wednesday morning.

Dennis Zeedyk, president of the new company, received a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant intended to encourage development of more environmentally friendly fuels. Zeedyk credited U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly, D-Granger, for assistance with the lengthy grant application.

A new bio-diesel plant could fuel more jobs and the economy in Michiana.

Xengerga officially opened the country's first high capacity bio-diesel plant Wednesday in LaPorte.

This is the first of many plants for the Florida based company. They are targeting 20 major U.S. cities during their first phase of plant openings.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

In partnership with Indiana Flex Fuels, LLC., Xenerga is proud to anounce the opening of its first U.S. biodiesel plant in LaPorte, Indiana.

“The biofuel industry is a fast-growing industry that lies somewhere between petroleum and agriculture,” said Dennis Zeedyk, general manager of the LaPorte plant and president of Indiana Flex Fuels.
